Cricket Betting at 3k — Place Bets on BPL, IPL and International Matches
Make Bangladesh's most popular sport even more enjoyable. A complete guide to markets, odds, and live betting across every format from T20 to Test.
The three cricket formats and how betting differs
Before starting cricket betting, it is important to understand the three main formats, as each has a different match pace, team strategy, and range of markets. All three formats are available at 3k.
T20 — The Fastest Format
Every ball matters in a 20-over game. BPL and IPL are part of this format. Because results can shift quickly, live betting is most popular here. T20 tournaments attract the most attention among fans in Bangladesh.
ODI — The Fifty-Over Contest
One Day Internationals combine strategy and patience. ODI markets stay active during ICC events and bilateral series. Run over/under and wicket markets are especially popular in this format.
Test — The True Test of Cricket
A five-day match can end in a win or a draw, giving three possible results. Test cricket adds a different dimension through series winner, innings markets, and long-term betting. It is preferred by patient bettors.
BPL, IPL and International Matches
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is the country's most popular domestic tournament. Players from around the world take part each season, making the markets more varied.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) draws the attention of cricket fans worldwide. From top run scorer to Man of the Match — each market carries different odds.
The ICC T20 World Cup and the Bangladesh Tigers' international series generate the most interest among bettors in Bangladesh. Multiple markets are open at the same time during a match, so there are new opportunities in every session.
Popular betting markets and how they work
A cricket match typically runs several markets at the same time, from match winner to total runs. Below are 7 common markets with a brief explanation of each.
Match Winner
This market is simply about which team will win the match. There is no draw in T20, so you pick one of the two teams. For example, if you bet on Team A to win, you receive a return only if Team A wins.
Toss Winner
A bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. The result does not depend on what happens on the field, so it works as an independent market.
Top Run Scorer
A bet on which batter will score the most runs in an innings or across the full match. This can also be a team-specific market — for example, who will score the most runs within Team A.
Total Runs Over/Under
The site sets a runs line, for example 160. The decision in this market is whether the total runs in the match will be over or under 160. The over market is popular on batting-friendly pitches.
Multi Bet (Multiple Selections)
You can combine three or more outcomes in a single bet. If all selections are correct, the odds are multiplied. If even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Full details on multi bets are available in the FAQ.
Top Wicket Taker
A bet on which bowler will take the most wickets in the match. This market is more active on bowling-friendly pitches or in certain weather conditions. Separate markets for Team A and Team B may also be available.
Run Handicap
To reduce the difference in strength between two teams, this market gives the weaker team a set run lead. The result is judged on handicap-adjusted runs, so the margin of victory matters, not just the win or loss.
How to read odds in three formats
The same odds can be written as decimal, fractional, or American. At 3k you can choose the format you prefer. Two concrete examples below explain the difference.
| Example 1 — Team A to win (stake ৳1,000) | ||
|---|---|---|
| Format | Odds | Return / Profit |
| Decimal | 2.50 | Total ৳2,500 (profit ৳1,500) |
| Fractional | 3/2 | Total ৳2,500 (profit ৳1,500) |
| American | +150 | Total ৳2,500 (profit ৳1,500) |
All three formats express the same odds differently. If Team A wins, you receive ৳2,500 back (৳1,500 profit + ৳1,000 stake); if Team A loses, the full ৳1,000 stake is gone.
| Example 2 — Team B is the favourite (stake ৳1,000) | ||
|---|---|---|
| Format | Odds | Return / Profit |
| Decimal | 1.50 | Total ৳1,500 (profit ৳500) |
| Fractional | 1/2 | Total ৳1,500 (profit ৳500) |
| American | -200 | Total ৳1,500 (profit ৳500) |
American minus odds (-200) mean you need a ৳200 stake to make ৳100 profit. Because Team B is the favourite, the odds are lower — a ৳1,000 stake gives a profit of ৳500.
In-Play Betting — odds change when a wicket falls
Placing a bet while the match is in progress is called in-play or live betting. Odds are recalculated after every wicket, every six, and every over. If the batting side moves ahead quickly, their odds shorten; when the bowling side takes wickets, their chances improve.
There is less time to decide in live betting. After the powerplay, you can look at the run rate and choose a total runs market for the next 10 overs or a wicket market for the death overs.
Odds updated every over
New odds are set after each over based on the score, wickets, and run rate.
Death Overs Market
Separate markets for runs and wickets in the last five overs open during live play.
How betting on football and other sports differs from cricket
At 3k you can bet on football and other popular sports alongside cricket. However, the market and odds structure vary depending on the sport.
Football
With three possible results including a draw, the odds structure is different from cricket. Goals over/under, scoreline, and both teams to score are especially popular markets.
Tennis
A straight contest between two players means there is no draw. Set winner and game handicap markets add a different dimension to tennis betting.
Basketball
In a high-scoring sport, point spread and total points markets are common. Quarter-specific markets appear more often in live betting.
Badminton
Quite popular in Asia. You can bet on match winner and game handicap markets. Live markets are also available at the tournament stage.
The main difference between cricket and other sports comes down to the number of possible results: ODI and Test cricket can end in a draw, while T20 and football (excluding super overs or penalties) cannot. This difference is what creates the variety in odds and markets.
Some practical advice before you start betting
Betting is a form of entertainment. There is no guarantee of profit — so play within your limits. You can find full details in the Responsible Gaming guidelines.
Set a budget in advance. Decide beforehand how much you are willing to spend on entertainment each month. Keeping a separate budget for betting means it will not affect your other expenses.
Start with one market. Begin with simple markets like match winner or total runs to build experience. Choosing too many markets at once can be difficult for new bettors.
Understanding odds is important. Keep the two examples above in mind — the higher the odds, the higher the risk. When a favourite has low odds, the return is also lower.
Do not rush in live betting. Odds change quickly, but pause and think before every decision. Analyse the situation rather than betting on impulse.
Be careful with multi bets. If even one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Adding too many selections reduces the chances of winning.
